While the Republic Day celebrations were on all over India, Crescent School also had its own aura of festive mood which included variety of patriotic programmes. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Alhaj V. N. A. Jalal, the General Manager of the Seethakathi Trust. The Republic Day programme started with Qiraat and Welcome Address followed by the felicitation to the Chief Guest. Mr. Abraham John, the Principal of Crescent School honoured the Chief Guest with a shawl and venerated his great service in this campus in his speech. Dr. P. Syed Masood, the Principal of Kilakarai Buhari Aalim Arabic College and Dean – School of Islamic Studies was also felicitated by the Principal, after which, the National Flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest followed by the National Anthem.
The students’ programme included a thoughtful Mime, mesmerizing Group Song, stunning Dance, vibrant Solo Song and articulate Speech that all had the theme ‘Patriotism’. Through these programmes, the students imbibed the value of freedom and love for the motherland.
This Republic Day celebrations were also extended a little further to the students online. All the class students involved in various activities and exhibited not only their talents but also their love for their Nation. A few programmes to list : Tiranga Outfit, Traditional Dresses of Indian States, Patriotic Song, Look Alike (National Leaders), Tableaux Display, Dance etc.
Though online, the students’ response was overwhelming and they participated in all the programmes with zest and zeal.
On the whole, the Republic Day celebrations imbued both teachers and students with great sense of patriotism that was evident through their participation.
