In July 1968, the Crescent School was founded in a rented structure on Harrington Road in Chetpet, Chennai. There were only fifty students enrolled at the beginning. The school was only moved to its current location at the Seethakathi Estate in Vandalur, Chennai, on July 19, 1971. The school, set in a magical environment, gives pupils many opportunities to enhance their natural abilities, physical endurance, and spiritual development. The generosity, compassion, and foresight of the Seethakathi Trust Members have played a significant role in the school’s quick growth from its very modest beginnings into a fully functional institution.
Crescent School is a 56-year-old educational institution run by the Seethakathi Trust. It was started by Alhaj B.S. Abdur Rahman, a visionary with a missionary zeal. From its modest beginnings in 1968, Crescent School grew to become a reputable Matriculation Higher Secondary School, recognized by the Central Government as a CBSE school, and an IGCSE school affiliated with Cambridge University, a globally recognized university. Every student at Crescent School is raised using the State, CBSE, and International Cambridge IGCSE curricula, all while keeping a laser-like concentration on acquiring information and skills.
Before our opening for day scholars in 2018 for both boys and girls, the school was exclusively residential for boys. We are now a fully developed coeducational institution. For girls, we also offer residential accommodation. In an atmosphere of tranquility, students from different Indian states and foreign countries live, learn, and study together. The school provides high-quality, interesting learning environments and an array of relevant activities to support and empower every student to reach his or her greatest potential.
